Winemaking
Very Tasty Indeed
A Cultivated Collaboration
Between Two Gentlemen in Walla Walla
Our wines are the offspring of a partnership between two discerning palates. Kyle cut his teeth on fine old Bordeaux, then furthered his connoisseurship in the Napa Valley. So he aims to create bold yet agile Columbia Valley wines that strike a balance between the Old World and New World styles. For his part, Dan came to the cellar from a science background, and approaches winemaking with discipline. When these two get together in Walla Walla to taste and blend, there’s plenty of banter, but the resulting wines are, truth be told, quite serious.
From Fruit of the Columbia Valley
A Comely & Majestic Place
Our longtime partner vineyards represent the best of Columbia Valley wine country, in all of its multitudinousness. Kyle and Dan walk the vine rows each spring, visiting our growers in subappellations such as Yakima Valley, Walla Walla Valley, and the Horse Heaven Hills. Tasting the fruit on the vine, we’re already thinking about the masterful blends we’ll make, from only the best juice of the vintage—cuvées that celebrate the finest that each vineyard has to offer.
And Skillfully Made
With Much Forethought
We aim for a style that splits the difference between Eastern Washington abundance and olde worlde finesse. Our wines are robust and fruit-forward, yet food-friendly. Extended aging in new French Taransaud oak barrels gives them genteel polish. They’re long on the palate, elegant in texture, and multidimensional in the glass. They’re delicious now, but will also age gracefully for another 10 to 15 years.
Huzzah!
And now, thou might gaze upon the wines
